I like the idea of doing a podcast ourselves. I'm just getting started with Android development (I've been a Java dev since '97), so I'm not sure I could contribute much more than newbie impressions in the short term.
One thing to keep in mind is that it takes serious dedication to produce a podcast with high-quality audio. Even though Dick's been handling the audio for the Java Posse for over 300 episodes, it sounds like it still takes him a while to do all the editing. Even if we didn't make it studio-quality, I agree with Moandji that it would be pretty jarring if we just glued everyone's pieces together. Even if we distribute the topics, I think it would make sense to come together (virtually, of course) to do the recording. I like the approach that the Posse follows where you all "meet" on Skype, but record the audio locally, counting in sync at the beginning to help the editor join the tracks together.
