Does not anyone see the irony? Fantom and Mirah are attempting to
provide a neutral platform across OS, etc.

The JVM type system and class library have already solved that problem
to a very great extent. That was Sun's design goal, after all.

I can get to Windows with JVM - so I don't even need to bother with
CLR as a vehicle to run so-called platform neutral software.
