Honestly, speaking, it is not easy to be Larry Ellison..Running one of the biggest companies in the world, fighting against time to get your goals and then making your shareholders( and others) convinced that your plan is going to work.. Java is such an important technology for Larry that he just cannot imagine fighting MS without it.. "Ok So I can use Java and Solaris(maybe) to work better with Oracle DB - trim and tune it to make it unbeatable..How about a one stop solution -starting from an OS to Programming Tools/technology to Back-End Db support.I would want my lock up my customers with me for years. There should be everything that my client wants with me.." Well, that is just a thought..However, this might just pull the nerve of MS.. I am not comparing Apple as I have a personal liking ( as a Steve Jobs admirer) for the former..:)..
