Windows 7 Ultimate supports Multi Language (I have used it, it is like
"Wow the UI is in Japanise...and I don't know what any of it says but
it looks really cool"). I get the point though. I don't know why
Microsoft seems to have been traditionally so awkward about that.

I also wonder if anyone has ever tried implementing in an O/S the
ability to associate different physical keyboards with different
layouts. I know that the O/S only sees the keyboard as a device with a
bunch of buttons on it and the things printed on the buttons are for
our benefit but I wonder if it would be handy to have different layout
keyboards plugged into the same computer for doing multi lingual work.
Maybe another option would be for the keys to have simple display
technology (like LCD) which could change what was displayed on the
keys when the system keyboard layout changed. It ought to be possible
on USB keyboards. Perhaps too niche an audience to make it viable.
Maybe if it could also be used as a gaming keyboard too where the keys
display what the key does within the game. Where is a venture
capitalist when I need one?
