I am using Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit on a Dell with 8 GB RAM, Core i5 and it
serves my purpose with the latest Java SDK and STS. Well, it sure does
not answer your track-pad requirement though. The HDMI out serves good
with the other large monitor and I don't lose out on portability
either. All drivers have been recognized by Ubuntu [except for the
proprietary nVidia ones] and almost works zero-config.

My only problem is that I am constantly maxing out 8 GB and looking
for an upgrade to 16 GB.

Regards
