Apple co-founded ARM with two other companies in 1990, but sold off
its shares at the end of the nineties (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

Maybe you meant "Imagination Technologies" which do the PowerVR
graphics chips that Apple and other companies use?  Apple owns 9.5
percent of them (http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/06/27/apple-
invests-in-imagination-technologies-for-powervr-graphics-solution/).
