For me apple presentations jumped the shark back when Zynga (borderline criminals and more morally reprehensible than drug dealers) took the stage to present farmville for the iPhone. Their presence on stage along with calling facetime 'revolutionary' (don't get me wrong, its certainly the nicest video calling implementation I've ever seen, but facetime hasn't exactly changed the world like e.g. the iPhone or the iPad has and everyone including Steve knew it) - well, clearly, Steve lost his edge there.
Sad to see its still a mess. A long long time ago when macs and hard disk based iPods were the only thing apple sold, Steve would introduce something like the magsafe power connector, say that it's really cool (which it was), and move on. It wasn't world changing or magical. Pity. Don't get me wrong, Vic at Google I/O can be just as arrogantly facetious, but Apple used to have a monopoly on genuinely enjoyable presentations that were used as prime examples everywhere of how to present. This just isn't it. Heck, even a device that really is magical doesn't need to be called that every 5 seconds. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
