Well my gut feeling (it's hard to find hard data on this) is if you rank Java usage at 100, Groovy might be a 5 and Scala a 1.
>From what I see Groovy is fairly commonly used to supplement Java. Some shops use Groovy as their primary language, esp ones using Grails. Groovy is not "untyped" though, it's dynamically typed.
