If all you want to do is create diagrams, then you might try Dia. If you want to create models that you can generate code and documentation from then I'd recommend ArgoUML. There's an ArgoUML maven plugin that lets you reverse engineer models from your code as part of an automated build. There's also an ArgoUML Eclipse plugin.
