Years ago, when I was doing heavy UML modelling, I used MagicDraw (in spite of the name, it's a real modelling tool, not only drawing). It worked well and is Java based, so fully portable. I lost the contact with it since now I use UML only ex-post, to document the work done (with UMLGraph), but I think that the product is being constantly improved.
