Hi Donny,

you can do the following:

1. Hit insert-F2 to go into your manager list and press the letter C for Configuration manager and enter.

2. press alt-F and arrow down to open default file or press the hotkey ctrl-shift-D.

3. press alt-S to go into the settings menu, then arrow down to verbosity and press enter.

4. Right off the bat you'll see a series of radio buttons that either say beginner highest, intermediate or advanced lowest. Arrow up or down to intermediate. The highest and the lowest indicate how much tutoring and other nifty things Jaws should speak.

If you want to customize each setting, you can tab to the three buttons below the radio settings and press space bar and go through the tabs available in the proceeding dialog box.

5. Once done, tab down to ok, if you have finished tweaking the settings of each level, or if you decide you don't want to tweak any of the settings, and that will close the verbosity dialog box.

I did not tweak any of my settings, however, you may find that you may want Jaws to speak more or less tutorial messages and punctuation, that sort of thing.

6. Press ctrl-S to save the configuration file, then alt-F4 to leave the configuration manager.

Jaws will now speak less punctuation and less tutorial messages.

Victor
