I have one more quick question if you don't mind. Do you think it would help to
turn the computer back before all of this started? If you do, would you please
send me some instructions for doing this? Thanks for all the help. Hope I'm not
bothering anyone. Thanks again.

The ultimate solution, short of a drive reformat, which some people with this
problem have been driven to in the past, is to delette the index.dat file in a
locale like:

  c:\Windows\temp\Temporary Internet Files\content.ie5

(This has to be done carefully!) It is a last resort. If you were to delete
the wrong index.dat file... you would have a bit of a mess left over. The good
news, however, is that, correct index.dat file deleted, this particular
index.dat is re-created the next time you open Internet Explorer (which should
have been closed, of course, since .dat files are files normally in use.)

In Folder: C:\WINDOWS\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 Type: DAT
File Date Modified: 05/08/2006 17:30 Size: 16.0 KB

Cancel the download and start over and see if that helps.

Hello. When I try to download something it says file download dialog.
Getting information. Then nothing. It doesn't let me choose where I want to put
the file, and whether or not to save it or open it. I've cleared cookies, I got
rid of the timporary files, and tried to run a virus scan. I am using jaws 7.1,
xp pro, and I have nod 32. Thanks for any help. Terry
