Here is a rather longdescription of Mouseover, Don Don, I have added some text from the Freedom Scientific web site giving you the definition of mouse over.
Mario Tobia Date Posted: 08/25/2003 Product Name: JAWS for Windows Version: 5.0 plus Category: HTML Question: What is the difference between the new OnClick and OnMouseOver features in JAWS 5.0? Answer: OnClick JAWS only indicates the presence of the OnClick attribute for HTML elements that are not usually clickable. For example, buttons and links can always be clicked by a mouse user. It is assumed that keyboard users know to press ENTER to activate them. Because of this assumption, there is no need for JAWS to indicate the OnClick attribute for buttons and links. Other objects or elements on a Web page which you may not expect to be clickable may have an OnClick attribute. JAWS does indicate the presence of these OnClick attributes. Press ENTER on the clickable element to perform an action or follow a link. OnMouseOver JAWS indicates the presence of the OnMouseOver attribute for all HTML elements which have added mouse-over functionality. For example, a Web designer may create a page so that additional information is displayed when a user moves the mouse pointer over a link. One example: When the user moves their mouse pointer over one a link, the list of choices expands, similar to the way a tree view functions. When an HTML element has a mouse-over feature, JAWS announces the presence of the OnMouseOver attribute so that you are aware that additional content is available. To activate the mouse-over feature of the element, press CTRL+ENTER. Pressing ENTER on an element with the OnMouseOver attribute will only activate the link and does not show you the additional information. We also take this one step further with a Page Change announcement and the ability to jump to the change! When you activate an OnMouseOver link so that the added information is displayed, JAWS will also tell you if the page changed as a result of activating an OnMouseOver element. If the page changed, you are told at which line the page changed. A good example can be found on http://www.rice.edu/fondren With your IE window maximized or in full screen mode, activating any of the OnMouseOvers will tell you that the page changed at line 20. You can then use the j keystroke to jump to line 20 to investigate the change. You can then use SHIFT+J to jump back to where you were. This feature offers you an easy way of finding the change to review it.
