Registry Mechanic is not free. It costs $29.95 for a single computer.

I have no idea how it works with Jaws 6, but I would think it would 
not be any different with your version and Jaws 8. You will have to 
use the Jaws cursor.

You are right. You should not go into your window registry unless you 
are properly trained to do so. One wrong mistake and you may not be 
able to reboot your computer. I guess that is why we depend on a 
software to do the job for us. But according to Lenny McHugh's post 
on this subject, a few days ago, not all registry cleaners are alike 
and some may even mess up your registry.

That is why I have not yet purchased any registry cleaners. I did run 
CCleaner to remove some entries in my registry. You can download 
CCleaner at David's web site under programs.
