Hi:
Make sure that in folder options you have show file extensions turned on and
hit space bar on apply to all folders.
Now while in the message with the attachments hit insert plus A to put focus on
the attachments.
Now you should be able to read each attachment and the file name and
extensions. If there are more than one attachment, just use the arrow keys to
move from one attachment to the other.
If you want to copy the names without opening them then just hit insert plus
control plus W to put that window in the virtual curser and select the names of
the attachments and hit control plus C to copy, then hit escape to exit the
virtual viewer and paste the names in to notepad or wherever.
HTH
Best wishes,
Terrill Reynolds

Hi Patti,
While you have that e-mail message opened, tab until you come to the point
where it says, attachment,
which is the first field after the subject line.
At this point, Jaws should tell you how many attachments are with that
message, and read the file name and and size.
You don't need to try and open the attachment to get this information.
On the other hand, you could ask the person who sent you the attachment,
what type of file it is.
Once you know what type of file you are dealing with, you can associate it
with a program.
Let us know.
