Hi Cathy, In your case, I think you should work with eather FS and/or the people on this list, someone should be able to help you fix your JAWS not reading mail problem. Once you have that fixed, I'd recommend updating to JAWS 8 given that you already have 8 purchassed.
I was in a similar situation with JAWS and AOL Instant Messenger. Anything later then JAWS 6.0 or 6.1 (I forget now) would not read the status of buddies on my buddy list...For example, idle, away, etc. I never really thought of calling FS though because I had asked around on mailing lists and my problem appeared to be unheard of. Anyway when JAWS 8 came out, AOL Instant Messenger 6.0 was supported. All that to say this: Since you have 8 already, I'd try and find a solution to your problem.
