Dear List I routinely try to use Jaws with maximised windows as I find it works better that way. An annoying feature of notepad and IE has been that guaranteeing that they open in a maximised window can prove difficult.
I can open blank documents in notepad in a maximised window by editing the shortcut properties but until now I could not force notepad to open maximised when opening a text file in explorer. I am just trying a free utility called autosizer which so far had worked brilliantly and I have happily been reading text files with notepad opening automatically in a maximised window when I click on the filename. It apparently works with Outlook Express as well. I got it from http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/ When run it goes into the system tray so I suppose it should be put in your startup folder if you want to use it all the time. Seems fairly small and unobtrusive. I have only been using it today but it has been very good so far. NOD32 reckons its ok.
