I'm using Jaws with Msoffice 2003 and Outlook Express and my antivirus software is McAfee's virusscan Plus. ----- Original Message ----- From: Cohn, Jonathan C [IT] To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, November 09, 2007 4:38 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 710.500 is malfunctioning
What package were you using? I have had some significant troubles with JAWS7.1 and Outlook 2003 when reading RTF e-mails. I have found some hacks to reduce the occurrence, but what ends up happening is when I hit a certain type of table in these e-mails the Outlook CPU processing takes all the time. If I force quit outlook then everything is pretty much working again. I can give more details if required. As far as I know, the only thing you can do to fix that is to upgrade. I remember that problem and could find no way to fix it either, and I have years of experience as an advanced JAWS user. However, for a few days now I find that whenever I type very fast or use some of the controls Jaws simply stops talking and even if I use the shortcut key to bring it back I get no speech. The only way to reinstate Jaws is to restart the computer. Does anybody else on this list have a similar problem and what is the solution?
