I'm not sure what you mean by side tray or acer, but my husband has told techs what to do when they've come beforewhen they were setting up computers for us, and that feature is nowhere to be seen. mouse settings in the control panel offers no help as far as turning the thing off. He's got an HP laptop, and loves that feature himself, because sometimes he reads text files and doesn't have to worry about it. Thanks for the idea though; it was a good one, but Sony doesn't see it that way.
