If you look in the JAWS help system, I think you will find how to use the virtual ribbons and also how to navigate the real ribbons.
Start with the help then ask questions. To get started I can say. Ribbons run across the top of screen, such as home, view etc. Pressing alt usually brings them up, run across the top select the part that you think you need and them press down arrow, then you are in the selections for that particular ribbon. Personally, I wish we could have the older menu styles back and be able to use shortcut keys like control E to center, but FS could not make that happen. Virtual ribbons are great for the beginner, I suppose but I had been using Office products for over 10 years when they arrived so for me using them was more trouble than it was worth. They are here to stay so the sooner you learn the mechanics the better you will be in the long run. Start with the basic help files for JAWS, there are sections on ribbons there, although it has been so long since I needed to go there I don't recall the exact names. Hello, When it comes to navigating MS Word ribbons I'm pretty much a beginner. I've memorized certain shortcut keys to do very specific things but need to learn how to navigate these ribbons. Right now virtual ribbons are turned on .. Would it be easier and more efficient to learn the ribbons if I turned this off? I want and need to learn as much as I can so any feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
