If it's happening a lot, there might be a problem of some sort, but I've never had a JAWS version that didn't crash at least a few times a week. Hopefully your reload time is fast. Still, if it's speaking again after you do that, and it's not happening, say, ten times a day, I wouldn't worry about it.

It is hit and miss as to which one wants to work. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: JM Casey Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2017 1:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Sound Card Diagnostics Question It sounds like the soundcard is working properly. Sometimes JAWS just crashes. You've tried reloading it? What happens then? -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: October 23, 2017 7:49 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [JAWS-Users] Sound Card Diagnostics Question Evening all. I have a Dell laptop, and periodically, JAWS will stop speaking. I can get other sounds, i.e. the tone when a usb device is unplugged, etc. I am uncertain as to whether it is my software, or my sound card. If it is my jaws program, or my sound card, but Can anyone tell me if there is a way to run a diagnostics on either one? I am using JAWS 17, on a Dell laptop, with Windows 10. Thanks in advance.
