Hi folks. Using Vista Home and latest JAWS 9 here. I have a brand spanking new Dell laptop. The set up had gone flawlessly today until I downloaded and installed JAWS.
I configured JAWS in the basic menu to automatically start. Once at the log on screen, JAWS does indeed talk, I type in my password, and hit enter. Then it logs on. However, JAWS then shuts down. I mean it doesn't just go silent, it actually unloads all by itself, and I then have to restart it. Also, I had sighted help, and once I restarted JAWS he looked and couldn't find JAWS anywhere in the task manager, under services, processes running, etc, which is odd. FYI, I'm using anti-virus, anti-spy ware, and firewall all from McAfee. This computer is so new, I've added nothing unusual on it yet. It's mainly loaded with the basics. Help? I know so little about Vista, so I'm sure I'm going to have plenty of questions in the near future. Smile. I'm also brand new to laptops. Thanks for any guidance. Chris Feist - The one and only!
