I'm using Word 2002 (JAWS9). What you may be getting is a dialogue, asking you do you want to view or remove the recovered documents the next time you open Microsoft word, ok/cancel? I tabbed to ok, hit enter, and the documents were apparently deleted. next time I opened word, I got a 'clean bill of health' - no prompt about them the next time I closed it.
