Well this is interesting, because when someone sent me an email regarding word not working, and one of the solutions was to rename the normal.dot to oldnormal.dot. However, when I try to do a search for it, it comes back empty no files found. I of course followed the instructions mentioned in the email to the letter, but no matches are ever found for normal.dot. I know where it is as I found 2 occurrances of it in a folder on the computer's C drive. One is the Normal.dot and the other is, $normal.dot.
Sould I do a new search with the $ sign first, or go directly to where the normal.dot is and delete it from there? I used the windows key, and then went to the search submenu and typed in, normal.dot and tab to search all files/folders, looked in the Cdrive this is the method I did to perform this search.
