I have been using JAWS 9 since it was released last fall.  I think I've got
the JAWS updates on both my work and home computers, but I'd have to check
to be sure.  At home I am not running SP3, and at work, I'm not sure as I.T.
pushes whatever they want to our computers.  The Cell thing started on both
computers sometime this summer, maybe July or August.

Well I installed jaws 9 I believe after SP3 which was in July. Until that
time, I used jaws 8 and experienced no problems with this "cell" thing at
all.
So if it's not jaws then it has to be the SP3 thing..
