Would it also be possible to place focus on the record/stop record button,
then mute the Jaws synthesizer, press record, get the sound one wants, then
press stop--and then insert-v, I think, will bring up a dialog so you can
unmute the synthesizer.

I haven't tried this is a while, but I did use that method successfully with
Jaws 8 and windows xp.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Sound recording

Hello, Estelita,
I wouldn't go to the extreme of adding an aditional soundcard. If your
microphone is picking Jaws (or any other sound in the envirement, for that
matter), you might want to try using headphones: that way, Jaws will speak
only to you, and the mic won't pick it. That's what I do, and it works.
If you're still getting Jaws even with headphones, then your recorder
program is probably set to record from System Mixer, thus picking Jaws and
other internal sound from your computer. If this is so, the only thing
you'll need to do is change the setting to record from Microphone. I'll
double check to tell you where exactly that is, but I believe you should try
the headphones first.
Hope it helps.
Hugs,
Vicky
