It's all in advanced settings, accessed from the AVG User Interface, under
the tools menu. You select a category in the tree view, then tab to the
relevant option(s). Once you've done that, just press enter to accept the ok
button.

AVG 8 by default will scan your system everyday at 12:00. This can be
customized of course. Updating of both the database and program itself
will
also take place automatically, by default everyday at 8:00. Again this can
be customized. Not sure about the OE question since I'm using Gmail as my
provider and AVG 8 doesn't support Gmail out of the box.

Will it do automatic scans and if so, how do I set that up?
What about that attachment announcement in OE? How do I get rid of it?
