Sorry Annette,
I meant that Ann is on 100 rows and Annette is on 100 rows. After sorting and possibly summarizing I would only have 2 rows, 1 for Ann, 1 for Annette.

Hi Annette,
Yes I think I know how to sort but say in column f is my name Ann and I am
on 100 columns. Then Annette is on 100 rows. I want only 2 rows 1 for Ann
and 1 for row. I hope I explained it okay?

If I understand you correctly, you have information stored in an Excel
spreadsheet. Each row is one complete record. You want to sort/arrange
the
rows by the information you have stored in Column F. If this is correct,
you can do the following:

Move your cursor to the first row of data in column F, or if you have a
header row, place the cursor on the header for Column F.

From the menu bar open the Data menu and navigate to sort. I think it is
the first item.

A dialog box will open. JAWS 8 and 9 act a bit odd when reading some of
the
fields in this dialog box.

You will be able to select the column you want to sort on. You will
either
see the header names or the column letter. Hopefully by placing your
cursor
on the header of column F, you will see the columns names instead of the
letters.

Sometimes you have to tab away from a field and back again in this dialog
box to hear what is in it.

There are a few other fields you can change that will effect your sort.
Just let me know if you need help figuring any of these out.

HTH,
Annette

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Excel sorting summarizing

Hi Folks,
Just wondering if anyone knows how to do folloing in Excel?
I created a spreadsheet that tracks where I go on my PC. The file is
called
PFirelog.xlc.
In column f there is a IP address but many of IP addresses are the same.
So I would like to sort on column f and only have 1 line per IP address.
Does anyone know how to do this in Excel?
Thanks,
Ann
