Hi Albert, I recently switched from Verizon DSL service to Time Warner cable service. To put the router thing in a nutshell, the modem had to be re configured to accomodate my linksis router. I didn't want to mess with it so a friend who knew how to reconfigure the modem came to the house and did it. Make sure that before the Time Warner technicians leave your house your computer is working exactly the way you want it. They left my house without configuring Outlook Express and I was also unable to access the internet. It took me several hours to get things straightened out but, I am damn glad because it was all worth it. One thing you might want to insist upon is that you get the modem with the backup battery in it. I am running XP Home, OE, & Jaws 8, 9, & 10 latest with a wired not wireless router. Take care. Mike

Good afternoon everyone On wednesday of this week, I am going to change my internet service provider from Verizon's dsl service too that of time Warner Cable's road runner service. My two questions are as follows. First, I don't remember what kind of wireless routerthat I have installed on this computer, as it was installed about two or three years ago. Is there a way that I can find out this information before Wednesday? Second, is it easy to setup and configure the new settings for the router through time warner? how would I go aboute doing this, as I have never done anything like this before and am very afraid of making a terrible mistake. There asking for an additional50 dollars for setting up the router. Do you folks think that I should let them do this? or should I try it on my own with your help and advice. I'm using jaws 10 with windows xp home addition with service pack three. s For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
