The only other suggestion I can think of is to perform another System
Restore to get your computer back to the state it was in just after you
installed IE 8, if you can find a restore point. Presumably, IE 8 was
working at this point, but you decided to roll back to IE 7 using System
Restore which apparently screwed things up. If you can "go back to the
future" and get IE 8 to work, you may be able to then remove it properly
using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel and roll back to a working
version of IE 7. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but this is the only thing
that comes to mind short of reinstalling Windows or using Firefox as your
browser.

Hi Gerald.
Unfortunately I did the system restore while i.e. 8 was on my computer.
Now just i.e. 7 is on my computer and restarting my computer isn't getting
it to work. Is there anything else I can try?

Did you try to remove IE 8 using the Add or Remove Programs option on the
Control Panel? If not, and you simply performed a System Restore, this
may explain the problems you are experiencing with IE. Check Add/Remove
Programs to see which version of IE is actually installed on your
computer. If it's still IE 8, remove it to roll back to IE 7. Removing
IE 8 using Add/Remove Programs does not completely remove IE but merely
reverts to the version you upgraded from. So don't worry that you will
lose IE altogether if you remove IE 8 this way. Once you have
successfully removed IE 8, you may need to reboot your computer to get IE
7 working again.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Internet Explorer problem.
Hi all.
This morning I installed i.e. 8 and decided to go back to i.e. 7. After
doing a system restore though, i.e.7 is not working at all: I either get
an error message or nothing happens. And when I respond to "send error
report button" nothing happens. I'm thinking that one or more things
got turned off for i.e. Since I cannot access the Internet at this
point, any help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help.
