Maybe you can help me with mine? I'm waiting to get a book which also
doesn't reccommend msword. I will stick with wordpad. I also plan to follow
the book, but if you could assist, that would be great!

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] creating a website using jaws

Hi all.
My experience is that learning html is the best way to avoid future
problems. I have not created any sites in ms word but I do believe as
someone mentioned that word adds extra code and probably plenty of it. This
can make it difficult to update and maintain. At one point I created a site
in an app called NetObject fusion. This was when I was sighted and a couple
of years ago when I wanted to update it it was a total nightmare as it had
added so much extra code that finally I just scrapped the whole site and
started from scratch. You never have real control over what the program does
or how it does it. I don't much care for programs that think they know
better than I do what it is that I want to achieve.

I write code in html using wordpad, code xhtml, some php, add java,
streaming music which is extremely easy btw, and more.
What I don't know when it comes to word is the working of adding true
accessibility on a site. I add captions and alternate text myself where I
need it and I have full control. It is fun, frustrating when first starting
but worth the hours of reading and experimenting in my opinion.
