Hi Alan,

What Mister Justice means when saying "use the windows key and letter " R "
key in combination " is hold the windows key down and press the " R ", but
don't not let up on the windows key until the " R " key has been pressed.
The same as holding down the control key and pressing the letter " C " to
copy something. Take care.
Mike

  Rick,

Point well made and one I overlooked as I have never had a
conflicting R entry. However, for many this could be a real
  possibility.
Not sure what you mean by "use the two as a combination?"

  thanks
  Al

This particular method, will only work if there aren't any
  other items on the
start menu that start with R.
Instead of pressing the letter R after the Windows key, use
  the two as a
  combination.
Windows key + the letter R,is the hotkey for the run
  dialogue.

  Janelle,

What I find the easiest is to simply use the run dialogue
box. I have found that sometimes depending on the status of
your computer at any given moment shortcut keys sometimes
fail. Here's how to use the run command line I mention
  above:

  1. pres the Windows key
2 hit the R key to bring up the run command line
3 type JAWSx, where x is the version of JAWS you want to
start. Remember there are no spaces between the word JAWS
and your version number. for instance, if you are using
version 10 all you would type is JAWS10. I really like this
feature that Freedom Scientific built in several versions
ago. Try shutting JAWS down and opening it this way.

  Al

  Hi All,
Does anybody know of a shortcut key that will start JAWS? I
know that NVDA's is Control plus Alt plus N.
