I received a response today from the Avast folks, regarding screen reader
accessibility issues with the new version 5. According to the response,
screen reader support will be part of the 5.1 release, scheduled for
sometime this summer.

I disabled the tray icon, but no matter what I did it still showed up in
the
system tray when I rebooted.
