David, Thanks. I was aware of the taskbar and how to navigate among the components on the taskbar, pin them, remove them, etc. I was just confused about the show desktop button that is there after shift-tabbing from the desktop...

But as I remember, the Notification Area, also called the System Tray , is at the far right of the bottom of the screen and thus just before the Desktop in the forward cycle. By using in conjunction with the Shift key, this would cycle the other direction. However, I am unclear where the Quick Launch Toolbar is normally located.
