I have read this approach by folks. Since most sound cards
are multi channel what are the advantages of this?

Hi Lenny,
I have 2 sounds cards and run Jaws through one sound card
and that sound
card through one set of speakers and the rest of my audio
programs through a
second sound card and set of speakers. Hope this answers
your question.
