Somebody was using Total Recorder 6.1. I don't believe how you got that
working in Windows 7 since support for Windows 7 was introduced as of
Total Recorder 7.1. If you meant Total Recorder 8.1 then I apologize.

Recording in Software mode is not possible because of certain qualities of your
sound board or the software you have installed for the sound board.
Prior to upgrading from XP to Windows Seven this was never a problem. On the
Web I read that some types of direct recording from the sound card has been
removed from Windows Seven and Vista. Glad I have a Netbook that still has XP.
I will put GoldWave and Total Recorder on there and hopefully I should be good
to go.
