Hi all,
This gentleman claims to be using 6.1. If the claim is true, then:
1. Only the user mode virtual device driver is available; no option would appear during installation because of this. The Kernel Mode drivers appeared starting from 7.0. 2. The program would only work for XP. If he's trying to use it under 7 then this could explain his problems.

Did u select only , repeat only, the '....Kernel filter...' driver during
installation? If u do that and uncheck the 'user mode' and the 'kernel driver'
then the software mode should work just fine.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] recording with GoldWave revisited

Well Total Recorder did not solve my direct recording is from the sound card
vs. microphone. In fact, when I tried to use the software option in total
recorder 6.1 I got the following error message:

Recording in Software mode is not possible because of certain qualities of your
sound board or the software you have installed for the sound board.

Prior to upgrading from XP to Windows Seven this was never a problem. On the
Web I read that some types of direct recording from the sound card has been
removed from Windows Seven and Vista. Glad I have a Netbook that still has XP.
I will put GoldWave and Total Recorder on there and hopefully I should be good
to go.
