It needs to be compacted, so let it and don't press any key during the
process. OE must be compacted from time to time, else it wil become
corrupted. if you prefer to do it manually, then from the message list
press alt+f, f, f.

I have Windows XP pro, Jaws 11 latest version.
OE constantly prompts me to compact email messages. Anyway to stop
this annoyance?
