You configure the serial settings on the USB-to-Serial adapter to match
those on the printer, i.e. 19200,8,n,1 for baud rate, data bits, parity and
stopbits. Match those to whatever your printer prefers.
Then, you assign it to a comm port. You will see the configuration
parameters if you go to device managers, ports and lpt, and look for your
usb-to-serial adapter there.

Actualy, the braille blazer will use either. I just plugged in the
cereal to USB adapter and found that it shows up as an unidentified USB
device. I wonder how one assigns it to be seen as a printer?
