Enhancements in JAWS 12.0.522 (December 2010)
The following is a list of items addressed or added between the final
JAWS 12.0.512 and the JAWS 12.0.522 posting. All enhancements since the
initial public beta release are included in this release.
JAWS
* Resolved an issue where English braille translation options
would appear in the German version of JAWS after pressing INSERT+V.
* Resolved an issue where the Custom Highlight Manager would open
after selecting the Mark Colors in Braille Manager.
* Resolved an issue where an empty Task List would fail after
moving focus to the list box.
* Resolved an issue where the Custom Highlight Assign Manager was
not working correctly.
* Corrections were made to the Virtualize Window and Virtualize
Current Control keystrokes in the JAWS Quick Start Guide.
* Resolved an issue in the uo.jsm file, and corrected a typo in
the wduo.jsm file.
* Resolved several issues with the INSERT+F1 help messages used in
various areas of Settings Center.
* Corrected the name of the Labeled Images check box in Settings
Center.
* Resolved an issue where some braille display input commands used
for JAWS BrailleIn were incorrect.
* Resolved an issue where it was difficult to read the text in the
Settings Center help message pane when contracted braille input was
turned off.
* Resolved an issue where certain cursor routing buttons on the
Focus braille display performed the wrong action.
* Resolved a long standing issue where control characters were not
being displayed on a braille display when the value was set to 0 in the
Default.jcf file.
* Resolved an issue in WPF applications where JAWS was not
identifying certain password fields.
Adobe Acrobat
* Resolved an issue where Adobe Reader became unresponsive when
trying to open a PDF file.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS was not reading table headers
tagged with the <TH> component in PDF documents.
Eclipse
* Resolved an issue with Eclipse where the Help tree view was not
working correctly when pressing INSERT+TAB.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS was not announcing changes in the
Help tree view in Eclipse.
Internet Explorer
* Resolved an issue where JAWS did not recognize labels for
invisible links on a Web page.
* Resolved several issues, such as extra blank lines and
whitespace being reported, when using JAWS with Internet Explorer 9.
* Resolved an issue where Web pages did not refresh, and JAWS did
not announce changes after choosing a button on that page.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS was not speaking exponential
numbers correctly. This was observed while reading Web pages.
* Resolved an issue where a Web page would not refresh correctly
after selecting a clickable link.
* Resolved an issue that caused Internet Explorer to fail on the
Web site winepresspublishing.com.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS was reading the entire word in a
link when reading by character, and reading only the first character
when reading by words.
* Made improvements to the way JAWS identifies and announces
certain clickable links.
* Resolved an issue in Internet Explorer 8 where JAWS was not
moving focus to buttons on Web pages after pressing B.
* Resolved a reported issue where Internet Explorer stopped
working when logging into and using the Web site indiegogo.com.
Microsoft Excel
* Resolved an issue where the braille display was not refreshing
correctly when navigating through an Excel spreadsheet while in Line
mode.
* Resolved an issue where double entries appeared on the braille
display when moving through some Excel dialog boxes.
* Resolved an issue with Excel 2007 and later where the ALT+1
through ALT+4 keystrokes were not correctly assigned in keyboard
manager.
Microsoft Outlook
* Resolved an issue where JAWS stopped responding when navigating
through appointments in Outlook Calendar.
* Resolved an issue when using the Say Word command while editing
an HTML formatted message in Outlook.
* Resolved an issue in the Outlook 2007.jkm file that prevented
the use of the ALT+I script.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS was not announcing the deleted word
when using CTRL+BACKSPACE in an Outlook message.
* Resolved an issue in Outlook 2003 where e-mail messages that
were previously marked as unread were still announced as having an
unread status.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS would announce and recommend that
certain e-mail messages be opened in a Web browser. This was observed in
Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010.
Microsoft Visual Studio
* Resolved a reported issue in Visual Studio 2010 where JAWS was
not reading the current line correctly in all parts of the new Project
Dialog.
* Resolved an issue where the Say Line command would not read
while in the New Project or New Web Site dialogs in Visual Studio 2010.
Microsoft Word
* Resolved an issue in Word where text was not underlined after
pressing CTRL+U.
* Resolved an issue in Word where paragraph marks were not visible
in braille if the JAWS braille settings were configured for DOM or
Active Follows Braille.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS was not speaking when using TAB to
navigate form fields in a Word 2003 document.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS was not announcing items when
moving through the list of available templates in Word 2007.
* When selecting text in a table cell in Word, JAWS would announce
the correct information, but would show the wrong information on the
braille display. This issue has been resolved.
* Resolved an issue in Word 2003 where standard table navigation
keystrokes were not working correctly.
* Resolved an issue where braille and speech were not working
correctly when adding or reading a comment in a Word document.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS had difficulty reading tables in
Word when reading by sentence or using the Say All command.
* Resolved an issue where the Navigation Quick Keys F and SHIFT+F
were not working correctly in Word.
Research It
* Resolved an issue where the Time Search lookup source announced
that no information was found.
* Resolved an issue where JAWS announced that no results were
found when using the Convert Currency lookup source.
Windows Explorer
* Resolved an issue where JAWS was not properly reading the dialog
box when deleting an item from Windows Explorer.
* Resolved an issue in Windows Explorer where group names did not
display on the braille display when using Line mode.
