What I have observed with Windows 7 and F5 is that it will only work if more than one item is selected. For instance, if only one item in, lets say, My Documents is highlighted and F5 is pressed, nothing. But if at least two items are selected and F5 is pressed, F5 works as it used to and there is no longer anything selected.
