Hi Dixie & Kurtis; Thank you both for your replies. They are greatly appreciated. For Dixie; Navigating away from Excel does not work on either of the computers that I'm having this problem with. But Kurtis, I think you hit the nail on the head! I didn't mention that I am having this problem on 2 separate computers, that are connected by a KVM switch. The ironic thing about Kurtis's suggestion is that I use the scroll lock button to go back & forth between the 2 computers. I can't hear the state of the scroll lock key because pressing it twice quickly is the keystroke that switches me back & forth between the 2 computers! What I did try that seems to work is, if I'm having Excel keystroke problems on 1 of the computers, I switch over to the other computer, then switch back & Excel keystrokes start working correctly again! I think I will try to assign a different keystroke for the KVM switch. Since I'm just beginning to learn Excel, all notes will be saved and again, thank you both for your replies. Take care. Mike P.S. Thank you both for also saving me a trip to doctor Phil! LOL

Here is my problem. When I open a, .XLS file, my arrow keys don't work most of the time. I thought that checking the box in the configuration manager for showing the virtual viewer on screen , might have fixed the problem. Although, I don't have the slightest idea what checking that box could have done! If I reboot the computer and open an, .XLS file, then the arrow keys will work. I am running XP Home, Office 2002 Home, & Jaws10 thru 12 latest. Would someone please tell me what could be possibly wrong to make these arrow keys not work correctly & consistently? I am using all the default settings, except for that virtual viewer thing. All help will be desperately appreciated / accepted. This arrow thing is driving me up a freaking wall & Doctor Phil under his couch! Thanks much. Take care.
