To successfully save a new file as normal.dot, (with Word closed) find and delete the old normal.dot. Microsoft wod will automatically replace it when you reopen the program. Then make your settings changes and save as you have been doing. The following is subject to be verified:- Note, however, that (I think it may still exist, for older versions of word)
 there is a bug in recent JAWS versions that appears to alter the
 normal.dot template file after every few sessions. Best not to worry
 about that too much, but to be aware of it.
