Hello Diane, There are a couple ways you can accomplish what you want to do. After typing your message, select from the end of the message you type to the top of the message and use function key 7. Only the selected text will be checked for misspellings. You will get a dialog box asking you if you want to continue checking the rest of your message and you can answer "no." You can also change an option that will cause the spell checker to ignore forwarded and replied to messages. When focus is in the list of messages, use Alt+F, and then use up arrow key until you find the "options" choice. Press enter key. In the list of option categories use down arrow key to the mail category. Use tab key about five times to a checkbox for ignoring original text in a forwarded or replied to message. Use spacebar to check the box. Press enter key after checking the box with the spacebar. Take care.
