Hi Patti,
I am running Office 2002, & I get extended selection mode when I press the
F8 key while in a Word document. It is my understanding that this would
work in Word 2003 as well. I am sorry if I have given some bad
information.

Ok I tried your steps, but when I pressed f8 I got the Jaws menu hmmm
I'm running XP, Jaws 12.525, and office 2003.
