hi kimpson,
I did that, & no aid. in fact in my case, the preview pane was already
unchecked. however, I still face the issue.
as per my reading of this issue on various forums, I realised that JAWS
has nothing to do with this issue & it comes up when you have K-Lite codec
pack installed on your machine.
I was being troubled with this, time & again, yesterday, I went ahead &
downloaded & installed the latest versions of these codec packs & the life
seems to be a bit easy this morning but as these codecs become old, it crops
up all over again.
even despite this, I am not too sure, if it is specifically due to these
codecs or some other reason.
I would really hope others pitch in & throw their ideas in there!

Hi,
I remember this issue coming up lots in the past and I will take a shot in
the dark because I do not remember what the answer was. If memory serves
me,
I think you will need to turn off the preview pain?
1. windows key E,
2. shift tab twice until you hear command module tool bar organize button.
3. Press space bar and a context menu will pop up
4. Arrow down until you get to the layout submenue and press right arrow
5. Up arrow to you hear preview pane and if it is checked, press enter to
uncheck it. I'm thinking that will solve the freezing issue. Go ahead and
try it. If it doesn't work please report back and someone smarter than me
will help!
Take care.
