This has happen to me from time to time and my only solution was to reboot
the PC to get it back to normal status.

I've been puzzled twice in the last two days when I opened my Windows 77
system from standby. jaws ccame up in demo mode. I have a
fully-authorized version. Any clue about how to solve this nuisance?
