I believe that when you open attachments from Outlook 2010 into Word or Excel, the file is in protective view. I find that JAWS 12 will not read the file. There is a way to disable this, but I do not remember how to do it and do not have a file to try it on. Maybe someone else can tell us how to do this, or maybe you can get someone who can see to click on a button that I've been told is some place on the screen.

I have office home and student 2010. When I open the file Jaws reads protected mode and file contains two objects. The only thing that I can read is a slash. The actual text is on the screen that my wife can read. I can not read it with the jaws or pc cursor. Using the latest jaws 13, windows 7 home.
