I know where downloads are going straight to downloads in trish's folder. I
usually been drop boxing from the xp machine to get on win 7 later.
I installed a game today and this is one instance the firewall reared up, and
no, I am not using IE 9.
Let's see what else I did over yonder on said computer today..
made a couple of folders, poked around in some of the stuff installed on that
contraption, installed some windows updates, set and reset my setting on my
game site, looked in firewall settings but didn't get very far there. then it
was time to send it to shut off.

Hi there;

Do you hear a sound?
Do you need to tab to yes?

Are you using IE9?
Perhaps it's the notification
Bar which you need to press alt+n,
Or, you can simply press the letter "s",
Assuming you know where your downloads are going.
Most likely into the download folder,
Just a couple of thoughts,

I do think your possibly correct, when pressing the shift 10, that is the
only thing running, but when routing jaws cursor, I do read windows firewall
when I'm either installing something or visiting something in IE.

Hello there;
Are you sure it's the firewall?
Sounds more like the UAC "user account control"

Yes, that irritating windows firewall, I want to kill it!
I'm getting short on patients with it wanting confirmation on allowing
something I want to happen.

Hello try the following;

1, from start-menu edit box type;
Taskbar,
Now, you may need to arrow and enter on, Taskbar&start-menu.
Note,
If you access the taskbar from the start button, through the applications
key, And then properties, you will land on the Start-menu page, So you will
need to shift+tab, and then left arrow to the taskbar tab.

2. now you need to tab and enter on,
Notification area customize....button.

3. now, shift+tab,
You will see;
Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar If the box is not
checked, Then check with the spacebar, Now tab okay press enter, And okay
your way out,

Now check your system tray.

Note, if the box,
Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar Is not check, You can
go into, Turn system icons on or off Link; Now, you use the tab key, Find
the particular program you wish to have showing, And you can choose 1 of 3
choices,
Show icons Notification Area
Hide icon notification area,
Only show notifications,

Hope this helps.

Well, it seems as if jaws is playing hide and seek in the systems tray.
Sometimes it's there and other times not.
I have all the necessary box's checked for it to show there, have checked it
twice,lol.

I installed drop box today and now it's in the tray, but jaws is not, so I
guess it's one of them lil' mysteries no rhyme or reason puzzles?
It's just my sys-tray just seems not right without jaws in it. I do not like
to alt tab and bump into jaws in case someone suggest this..

I'm running the very latest of Jaws 13 on win/7 64 bit ASUS laptop.

Thanks for listening and for any help
