I noticed whenI had GW Skype installed on my system, I would often not get incoming phone call notices and other sound notifications would also not come up. This was even the case when I had the traditional Skype program running and had the GW Skype application completely off. Calls would go to voice mail, I wouldn't get any ringtone when making a call, etc. I finally uninstalled GW Skype because it dididn't meet my phone calling needs, but ever since then, I haven't had any of the issues mentioned above.

Patti Interesting, so if I understand correctly people are complaining about a little advertisement every once in a while. I'm not surprised to be honest. The program works fine and they made it screen reader independent so don't look a gift horse in the mouth as the old saying goes. Personally I know of several people who could benefit from an easier interface than what is available in Skype. Also obviously I can use either option but it is nice to work with a program that involves less effort.
